Description
Now in its third edition, Optical Document Security has transformed from a compilation of related topics on the subject, to a comprehensive and cohesive treatment of all aspects of optical document security written by a leading expert with decades of experience. This completely revised and updated edition brings you to the cutting-edge of this field, with new coverage of paper-based security, printed security, security evaluation and features, and biometrics.
From substrate security and security printing techniques, to optically variable devices based on diffraction and interference of light, the book offers and in-depth understanding of the enormous variety of document security features and issues that are critical in the field today. Not only do you learn about the physics of each document security feature, you explore its value in resisting counterfeiting and forgery. Moreover, this unique resource examines the aspects of security design and human factors of first line document inspection. The book contains over 150 illustrations, including actual security documents, and features an invaluable appendix with samples of important security features.
Software Included
CD-ROM features scores of full-color sample images that support key topics discussed throughout the book.
